Iron Maiden star ups his plane game

Bruce, an experienced commercial pilot, has really gone for it, hiring a jumbo jet for his 2016 world jaunt. What’s more, the Heavy Metal band’s front man will be at the controls.

Bruce will take charge of the 747, known as Ed Force One, flying it 55,000 miles to six continents on The Book of Souls World Tour. Onboard will be the band, the road crew and more than 12 tons of equipment.

There’s one snag; Bruce has got to learn to fly it first, but that shouldn’t be a problem as he already has many hours’ experience captaining smaller Boeings.

He might have to forego the partying after the gigs to make sure he’s fit to fly, but he’s still just so rock’n’roll.
