Como Street restructured following 'financial issues'
OTA and TTA member Como Street Travel has restructured its business away from the short-haul package sector following “internal financial issues”.
Gary Lewis, group managing director of The Travel Network Group, which Como Street belongs to, confirmed to TTG that the business had undergone a restructuring.
This will see it focusing on the long-haul sector on destinations such as Florida.
“The business has been restructured after some internal financial issues and the TTA has guarantees in place with all partners and consumers through our 100% financial protection model”, Lewis told TTG.
TTG understands the restructuring took place in December.
In a statement The Travel Network Group added: “Como Street has repositioned itself in the market and going forward there will be much more emphasis on the long-haul sector, and much less reliance on the short-haul package sector - which was becoming less profitable.
“This revised strategy has been demonstrated through its sale of its Beat the Brochure business,” it said.
Como Street director Daniel Ox could not be reached for comment.
